At the occasion of the European Year to fight poverty and social exclusion, Secours populaire gives the floor to young europeans during a three days seminar in Paris in October 2010 tackling the issue of youth poverty in Europe. Around one hundred young Europeans will meet to share their experience of solidarity and propose new supporting methods to develop together at the European level. The meeting will start with a round table on Youth poverty in Europe. Day 2 will focus on workshops tackling issues related to five different young target publics. It is a very participatory working method to allow the whole audience to e xpress themselves. Day three will focus on a common support action in Paris. The participants are expected to present the situation of poverty and collect testimonies about poverty cases in their country. The form of their presentation remains free: by writing, pictures, videos, slam…The tool « Booklet – From Words to Action », made by Secours populaire to collect the expression of the people in need will be proposed to those who wish to use it. The collected testimonies will contribute to the recommendations to make to the decision-makers concerned by Youth policy. They will be called upon about the values the young Europeans wish to promote and on orientations and measures to decide to provide support to actions aiming at fighting Youth poverty.
